Coverage
No contact provider is equally strong across every geography, profession and field. A waterfall can continue searching when the first eligible source misses, which may improve field availability.
That does not make each returned value correct or current. Identity fit and field correctness still require acceptance rules and representative testing.
Operations
Someone must still select providers, manage contracts, monitor latency and errors, respond to schema changes and define stopping rules. A managed waterfall moves much of that responsibility to the service operator.
A custom direct integration gives the buyer more control but also more maintenance. A single provider minimizes both the search surface and the operational burden.
Evaluation
A useful comparison reports how many accepted fields were found, whether they matched the intended entity, how long requests took, what each outcome cost and how much integration work is required.
Include expected no-match records. They reveal whether a product preserves uncertainty or produces plausible-looking values that the workflow may misuse.
